Nets are up! Spring is here! It was a long winter, but a great one for the DTC. Programs are busy, courts are incredibly busy, and I can't wait to get outside!
Drills 'Till You Drop - We will have our 2nd annual Drills 'Till You Drop on Saturday, April 3rd. Regular drills from 9:30 - 11:00, or stay until 4:00 for $25. Can you take the challenge?
New Lighting - If you haven't had the chance to try out our new lights, we hope you do soon! The courts are better lit than before and much more energy efficient. Thanks to everyone for their patience during our renovation.
Website - Our website will be updated thanks to Kevin Bush, look for a brand new look coming soon! Our website is www.danvilletenniscenter.com.
USTA Leagues - We will have a sign up sheet on the bulletin board to see if we have enough interest in USTA Leagues. This is a league that gives you the chance to advance against other cities if you win at the local level. Leagues will begin in May.
Junior Match Play - Starts April 3rd, 1:00 - 2:00. This will be supervised play for 14 and under boys and girls.
Girls Singles Match Play - Starts Saturday, April 3rd at 2:00. This will be supervised singles matches for High School and Jr. High girls.
Junior Clinics - Our current session will end the week of April 12th. We will skip the week of March 29 for spring break. The next session will start April 19 and run for 6 weeks.
Camps - High School Camp will be June 7 - June 11. Junior Camps will be June 14 - June 18. Check the bulletin board and website for more information.
DHS Boys High School Tennis - The boys started practice on March 1, their first match is March 20 at Metamora. Their first home match will be Thursday, April 15 at 4:00pm. A complete schedule is on the bulletin board. Come out and support the team!
Cardio Tennis - Cardio Tennis has started again! Wednesday nights from 6:00 - 7:00. If you want the most intense workout you can have in tennis, come join the fun!
Pro Shop - Check out our new Demo racquets, $3.00 to try them out!
Tennis Across America Day - USPTA is hosting the 21st Annual Tennis Across America Day all over the United States. This is a chance to introduce new players to the great game of tennis. I will have free drills on Saturday, May 1, from 11:00 - 12:30 for anyone who brings a friend to the DTC. Let them see how much fun tennis can be!
Jocko's and Commercial-News Greater Danville Area Open Tournament - This years Jr. tournament will be held the week of July19th - 23rd. The adult tournament will be July 23rd - 25th. We will kick-off the tournaments with our Parent/Child Tournament July 17.
New Staff - We will be adding two new employees this spring and summer, Adam Huls and Isabela Dias will be a great addition to our already great staff.
Club Championships - We had great participation this year with 51 entries. Fantastic! Congratulations to our winners:
